EDITOR’S NOTE: The Dominican Republic is the most popular of Caribbean tourist destinations. It also has the highest rate of repeat visitors in the Caribbean. With this in mind, #IslandsCaribbean revisits the destination in this issue, following from our last issue to do so about this time last month.
Prior to implementation of new travel restrictions within its target markets, air-ticketing data indicated an upward tend in visitor arrivals to the destination, despite the dramatic fall in January. But, stand-outs had been Punta Cana breaking into new markets, and the trust to attract more tourists to Samana.
