EDITOR’S NOTE: In March, #IslandsCaribbean published edition 2021-03-09 of its newsletter, which featured Digital Nomad programmes in the Caribbean. We re-visit the topic in this edition. Reference is made to five islands: Dominica, Montserrat, Barbados, Aruba, and Cayman Islands. Two of the five articles are on the Cayman Islands. Barbados and Aruba each have one.
Dominica and Montserrat are the latest islands to offer digital nomad programmes. They are featured in the headline taken from Travel Weekly, which reads: “The Number Of Caribbean Islands Offering Remote-Work Visas Expands”. The article also gives a brief history of the initiative and available offerings, which is particularly informative to those new to the topic.
Other than the addition of these new destinations, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism has also introduced an innovative incentive program for travel advisors which incentivizes referral to its remote-work program — “Global Citizen Concierge Program (GCCP)” — thus allowing travel advisors to potentially earn up to $250 for each successful referral.
