HealthCaribbean Weekday ed. 2021-04-12

by | Apr 5, 2021

EDITOR’S NOTE: In edition 2021-03-29, #HealthCaribbean looked at technology in Caribbean Healthcare. This newsletter re-visits the topic but broadens the scope to include its use as a preventative measure. Four out of five articles concern applications regarding the pandemic; the other looks at user-friendly application of telehealth on mobile devices.

The headline taken from the Caribbean Travel Blog reads: “Jetblue And Aruba Launch Digital Health Pass: Easy Travel Option Now Offered to Visitors”. It speaks of the partnership between Aruba, JetBlue Airlines, The Commons Project Foundation, and COVID testing companies — Vault and XpresCheck — to offer the convenience of CommonPass digital health pass to its visitors.

The remaining four articles all relate to Jamaica, and show the diverse application of technology: from telehealth, to scheduling of COVID-19 vaccination appointments, to a public-private partnership creating an eCommerce National Delivery Solution (ENDS) platform which allows registered businesses to take orders and make deliveries during curfew hours.
