We conclude that series in this newsletter as we focus on Jamaica. Two of the five articles are proposed works. the others are works at various stages of implementation. Content on other locations have been posted on our Twitter feed.
Our headline, taken from the Jamaica Observer, reads: “Construction of MoBay Bypass To Begin Late 2022”. This Montego Bay (MoBay) Perimeter road involves construction of 25 km of roadway in two segments: a 15 km Montego Bay bypass, and a 10 km Long Hill bypass from Montego Bay. On completion, motorists will be able to drive along Highway 2000 from Kingston to Montego Bay .
The second proposed work is the maintenance of 5,000 km of roads islandwide. The fourth and final phase of the National Street Lighting Replacement Project is at the tender stage. In this, over 70,000 street lights are proposed to be replaced by smart LED lamps. The two remaining articles are both on different segments of to the southern coast component of Highway 2000 referred to earlier.
