Our headline, from website of the University of the West Indies (Mona), reads: “UWI Professor Co-Authors COVID-19 Research That Reveals Shift Workers More Likely To Be Hospitalised”. Prof. Simon Anderson — Director, George Alleyne Chronic Disease Research Centre — co-authors paper titled: “Shift work is associated with positive COVID-19 status in hospitalized patients.”
Dr. Christopher Ogunsalu — senior lecturer, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of the West Indies (Mona) — being part of a multinational research team claiming breakthrough in the treatment of COVID-19 with menthol crystals, says: “We will be seeking to make contact with the Indian High Commission here in Jamaica to formally make our offer” to help India.
Dr Andre Williams — an integrative oncologist in Montego Bay — was certified in medical ozone therapy in 2017, and has successfully used ozone therapy to treat several COVID-19 cases, including himself. And in California, another Jamaican — Omar Barnett — heads Prospective Research Innovations, which is a leading provider in clinical research trials in that state.
Finally, Cuba Business Report interviewed Dr. Dmitri Chelovskiy, CEO of Neyros – a Russian research institution — about their work with CDIM – a Cuban research institution — in the research and development of new pharmacuetical drug candidates to treat nuerodegenerative disorders, including: Dimentia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Cerebrovascular Ischemia, and Melanoma.
