EDITOR’S NOTE: In this issue, InfrastruCaribe takes a look at funding needed for Caribbean energy infrastructure to use renewables, particularly solar energy. Of the five cases presented, funding for the largest, in the Dominican Republic, is by the utility company itself. One case is by a publicly traded entity. The remaining three are government projects mostly funded by the Caribbean Development Bank, with Jamaica receiving funding from USAID, but seeking public-private-partnership.
