EDITOR’S NOTE: Continuing from our previous issues, #InfrastruCaribe continues its social infrastructure series. This newsletter focuses on sports facilities in the Caribbean. Three locations are covered, namely: the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, as well as Trinidad and Tobago. And, sports disciplines covered are golf, baseball, swimming, and cricket. You are encouraged to visit our Twitter site for additional infrastructure projects.
Our headline is taken from the Dominican Today and is titled: “Bahia Principe Golf’s Ocean´s 4 course becomes PGA Ocean´s 4”. The golf course, which will become the official headquarters of the first Golf Academy of the renowned Bahia Principe Golf association in the Dominican Republic, was rebranded, and has become the newest golf facility in Latin America affiliated with the Professional Golf Association (PGA) of America.
Three of our five articles cover new sports facilities in the Bahamas: the opening of the MacFit 360 Fitness and Performance Centre, construction of the Andre Rodgers National Baseball Stadium, and the South Beach Swimming Pools Complex. Otherwise, remaining facility is the Brian Davis Indoor Cricket Centre in Trinidad which was recently refurbished and reopened
